Restore is a process of recovering files from backup. Windows operating system before shutdown it takes backup file weekly once by default.
Go to
Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System restore
Here
there are two tasks. Creating backup and restore the system. Windows
operating system takes some space to store the restore point (called as
checkpoint). Better to disable the automatic restore point for except c
drive, because it takes 12% of disk space. That means 1 GB for 10 GB
disk space. So disable this future. But don’t disable for C drive.
Here we have a question, how to disable this restore future?
Go to my computer properties, system restore tab,
Select D, E, F drives and click settings, and turnoff restore checkpoint.
After disable this future the window is like that
Come
to restore process, if you want to backup the system, go to create
restore checkpoint. If you want to restore an earlier time, go to first
option.
Then
select one week below restore checkpoint to restore the system. Click
next to start the process. After restart the system, the setting will
change.
